About the Farm

Founded in 1898, Gotta’s Farm and Cider Mill is a proud, fifth-generation family farm rooted in Portland, Connecticut. With deep ties to the land and community, the farm has grown into a regional staple known for its commitment to quality and tradition. Over the past century, it has flourished across generations, each one nurturing the soil with care and expanding the legacy of this family-run operation.

Operating from two seasonal locations—Gotta’s Farm on Route 17 and the Quick Pick (QP) Market on Route 66—the business offers an array of fresh produce and pick-your-own fruit experiences featuring strawberries, peaches, apples, and pears. In addition to fruits and vegetables, Gotta’s is a grower of ornamental plants and garden varieties, servicing the region with annuals, perennials, shrubs, and more. For holiday celebrations, the farm embraces the season with a curated selection of Christmas trees and decorations.

Gotta’s Farm also boasts an on-site bakery that produces fresh-baked pies, cookies, and breads—an authentic taste of New England farm life. Alongside their farm stands, they engage with the broader community through participation in three regional Farmers’ Markets. With a steadfast devotion to quality, sustainability, and tradition, Gotta’s continues to be a beacon of agricultural vitality in the Connecticut River Valley.
