About the Farm

Stone Soup Farm is a small organic vegetable farm nestled on the banks of the Connecticut River in western Massachusetts. Drawing inspiration from the stone soup folktale about the power of community and human connection, the farm operates as a Community Supported Agriculture cooperative where members pitch in a small share of the farming costs and receive a share of the harvest throughout the growing season.

This small family farm operates with a summer crew of just 3-5 people and has been farming the same land for over 10 years. Their greenhouse, barn, and pick-your-own garden sit on Rocky Hill Road in Hadley, while most of their farmland is located about a mile away, beautifully positioned between the Porter-Phelps-Huntington Historic House Museum and the Connecticut River. The farm cares deeply about soil health, community connection, and everyone who works the land with them.

Stone Soup Farm offers both summer and winter CSA shares, bringing super fresh produce to their members through on-farm pickups in Hadley and deliveries to Cambridge, Boston, and Jamaica Plain. Their summer farm share runs for 20 weeks from June to October, covering the full spectrum of Northeast vegetables, while their winter share runs from November to March, keeping members well-stocked with locally grown produce through the colder months. The farm prioritizes making their organic food accessible to all while paying living wages to their workers.
