About the Farm

Rooted in the fertile hills of Bloomfield, Connecticut, The 4 Five Farm is a family-run homestead that exemplifies the promise of regenerative, small-scale agriculture. Founded by the Duesing family—Kassie, Daniel, and their children Zoe, Charlotte, and Kingston—the farm began in 2020 with the leasing of Hawk Hill Farm through a partnership with Traprock Ridge Land Conservancy. Since then, the family has expanded operations to their own land on Duncaster Road and additional grazing pastures in Simsbury. United by a love for nature and a belief in soil health, The 4 Five Farm is a quiet force of integrity in modern farming.

At its heart, the farm is built on a deep respect for the animals they raise and the community they feed. Specializing in pasture-raised poultry and eggs, organically-fed chicks, and sustainably raised lamb and pork, the Duesings provide high-quality nourishment while remaining committed to ethical stewardship. Their roadside egg stand is open 24/7 on the honor system, a simple testament to the trust they extend to their customers. Meanwhile, their chick operation—complete with a thoughtful Rooster Reassurance policy—reflects the farm’s personal attention to each life they nurture.

With vegetables returning in 2025 and an eye toward continual growth, The 4 Five Farm is both a working farm and an ever-evolving family story. The land they lease and love is not just a place of production, but of learning, renewal, and connection. Whether you’re picking up chicks, placing a pork share order, or simply grabbing a dozen eggs from the porch stand, you’ll feel the warmth of a farm that grows more than food—it cultivates care, transparency, and a return to what's real.
